After last week's connection with Nacho, Jimmy calls his blonde lawyer friend Kim, and tries to find out where the Kettleman's money is. (The Kettleman's have been accused of stealing more than a million dollars). It's hard at this stage to decide if he wants to know for the wrong reasons, but later it is confirmed he was looking out for their well being.
Jimmy warns the family with a make-shift voice muffler, the night before they disappear.
Nacho, having been scoping the house prior to their disappearance, gets charged with their kidnapping, and of course, requests Jimmy as his lawyer.
So let's focus on the best part of the episode: Mike. Mike and Jimmy continue their sparring sessions at the parking station and end up the police station after their session becomes violent. Mike gives Jimmy a helpful lead regarding the Kettleman's, mentioning his time as a Philly detective, which I can only hope is leading to more of Mike's back story.
In an almost too cliché but oh so brilliant scene, Jimmy tracks down the family and gives us his rendition of Jack Nicholson in The Shining - 'Here's Johnny'. And it is here that the Kettleman's guilt is confirmed with the tearing of a large duffel bag full of cash.
Three episodes in, I still want to watch more. Not too shabby for a spin off show.
