My experience derived from a guy hovering over a classics section out at the bargain tables. A copy of The Great Gatsby caught my eye, so naturally I stopped to look. After noticing my enthusiasm, he remarked that the books were a great price. After agreeing with him, I seemed to have somehow communicated to him that it was okay to commence a conversation. So he did.
Not only did he think it was okay, he asked me if the books were based on the movies with the same name. Yeah buddy, whatever floats your boat.
So what is the unspoken rule of bookstores, and are we all the same? Does everyone prefer to be left alone to peruse the shelves as I do?
