So we made it. The team get to Alexandria and despite the last episode's ending with the promising sounds of children playing happily, the gates open and there is one lonely guy on gate duty. Continuity again?
They each take turns throughout the episode to be carefully assessed mentally by Deanna, the town's resident peace keeper/recruitment officer. Rick of course is hesitant, yet others like Carol seem to find it easy to confess things like 'missing her wonderful husband'. Sorry...what? Oh wait a minute...Carol you wonderful fish you!
Hands down, best part of TWD to date: Daryl pacing the office of our resident recruitment officer with a crossbow over his shoulder and a bit of roadkill in his hand. If you're looking to fill the position of hick-extraordinaire, Daryl is your man!
Rick shaves his beard and we are all reminded once again that he's that guy from love actually that held up the sign of the mummified woman.
As mentioned previously, my prediction was the team struggling to simply, fit in. We've got Carl with his first real love interest since his school boy crush on Beth, Carol who's playing the 'house wife' and Glen who's giving the peace keeper's son a punch to the teeth.
Yeah. They'll do just fine.
At least Rick and Carl got out for a little father/son zombie-slaughtering bonding...
Did anyone else think back too the very first scene of the series where Rick looked exactly as he does now? You know the one...he shot that little girl-zombie?
By the end of the episode, Rick and Michonne are the constables of Alexandria and officially partners. No news yet on what the others will be doing, however there is a rumor Glen will take on the role of resident bad-ass.
All in all, a great breather and an in depth insight into how the team have progressed.
Just don't get comfortable...
